Sacred Self Care

Love Yourself!

Self-care is a popular topic and means different things to different people.  When I speak of Sacred Self Care, I am referring to taking an active role in protecting your well-being and happiness.

As women, we wear many hats and carry many responsibilities.  With everything that is asked of us, we rarely think of our own needs until we are running on empty or downright ill.  Since Valentine's Day is this week, I want each of you to love yourselves and give yourself the gift of a self-care plan. (You know I love a plan!)

Take the time to think about your own mental, emotional, and physical health.  Think about something you enjoy doing, simply for the pleasure of it.  We all know that healthy eating and exercise are important for your physical health, but what nourishes your soul?  Self-care should be something you actively plan, but not something that becomes just another "to-do" item.

Once you've identified what recharges you, make it a priority in your schedule just as you would the activities consistently on your calendar.  Self-care makes you more productive, enhances mood, and increases self-esteem. By taking care of ourselves, we are better able to take care of others.

Most importantly, whatever your self-care ritual, make the most of it.  Be present with yourself and truly enjoy recharging your spiritual battery!
